Healing Work

Therapy with me is a collaborative and empathetic journey towards healing and growth. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. My approach is client-centered, meaning I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and goals. Together, we will work towards building insight, developing coping skills, and fostering self-compassion. I am dedicated to supporting you on your path towards greater self-awareness and emotional well-being. Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or seeking personal growth, I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

My impacting identifies/roles that inform my work:

I am a white cis gender heterosexual women who has played many roles in my lifetime. I am currently a mom, wife, co-parent, friend, and therapist. However, I have also spent time as a single divorced mom and estranged daughter in my past so can appreciate the different roles, we find ourselves in throughout our lifetime. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to process whatever role they find themselves in while we work together to find peace and humility within those roles.

I feel informed and knowledgeable about:

Anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, parenting, repairing parent/ child relationships, and neurodiversity. I began my education with a Bachelor of Psychology because I was fascinated by human behavior and connection. This interest along with having four children myself and working as a middle school counselor has led me to feel confident in understanding child/ teen development. I feel confident in supporting families with understanding their children/ teens and repairing their relationships while keeping appropriate boundaries and expectations.

I work best with clients who:

Are 10 years or older and are committed to the process of therapy.

I am not a good clinical fit for clients who:

Are younger than 10 years old, struggle with substance abuse, or are interested in couples counseling.

What makes me unique:

I believe that one thing that makes my work with adolescents and teens unique is that I currently work in a middle school so fully grasp their experiences with peers, school pressures, and the outside influences they are exposed to. This coupled with my personal experience as a parent gives me great insight to work with the parent/ teen relationship.

Learning and Growing

I am a lifelong learner so have many learning goals for myself. I am currently studying Inferential Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to better support individuals with OCD and plan to attend a training on Somatic practices in relation to trauma and anxiety.

Fun Facts/Resilience Building

Currently I am embracing my own parenting journey as my youngest of four children is in 6th grade and I know just how quickly they grow up. My oldest two children are 23 and 21 so have officially left the nest. I am also focusing on self-care and work/ life balance through travel with my husband.
