Teresia Johnson is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Liberty University, and her Master’s in Social Work from Louisiana State University. Teresia spent most of her career working in hospitals and community settings, where she delivered psychiatric and behavioral health services, counselling, and crisis intervention services to children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Teresia has extensive knowledge and training working with individuals who have experienced issues related to trauma, bereavement, grief/loss, PTSD, ADHD, ASD, homelessness, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, self-esteem/body image issues and attachment behavior.
In addition to her work at Anchored Hope Therapy, Teresia works full-time at Thrive Behavioral Health’s mental health clinic. She works with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds, utilizing a client-centered approach and a combination of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Empowerment. She helps her clients work through anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, grief, loss, abuse, and trauma from a strength-based perspective in which the client and therapist work as a team to find tools that will work for the individual. Teresia pulls from both clinical practice and life experience to offer her clients a well-rounded perspective in their therapeutic journey.
