Paulette Moore is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC). She received her Master’s in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. Since graduating, Paulette has been working as an academic advisor and counselor at Montgomery College on the Takoma Park campus. Paulette has advised students from many different countries who are navigating adjustment to the American school system along with adjustments to a new community and culture.
Paulette also has experience working with adults and children in the surrounding Baltimore communities who were managing mental health issues like Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, and ADHD. She holds a minor in gerontology and has worked with gerontology clients who were suffering from mental health issues and intergenerational dynamics like raising their grandchildren. Paulette blends a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approach with Gestalt Therapy. She also uses a Brief Therapy Approach and Narrative Therapy tools to support clients in feeling connected to and in control of their healing journey. Paulette is in the process of completing the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional I and II certification to support clients using a trauma-informed therapeutic approach.
Paulette enjoys working with a variety of clients with different mental health challenges. She also works with couples to help them learn to be compassionate and express their love for each other often. Paulette strives to provide a warm, welcoming, and validating space to support her clients. Paulette is supervised by Christine Coyle, LCSW-C.
