HEALING WORK

Therapy with me: I strongly believe in empowering individuals and families to make meaningful changes in their lives. I enters into partnerships with individuals and families to jointly develop treatment goals to address their individual goals and move towards positive changes. Adapting treatment modalities to address the specific needs of her clients, I provide highly professional, caring, and personalized psychological services to promote well-being and growth.

My impacting identifies/roles that inform my work: I am a cisgender, white, heterosexual female. I continually work to foster awareness of my own privilege and how it intersects with my identities and role within the therapeutic relationship. 

I feel informed and knowledgeable about: Providing trauma-informed therapy to children, adults, and families as well as therapeutic services to individuals across the lifespan. I root her treatment in evidenced-based treatment modalities. I received training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from the Beck Institute and have also been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

My experience also includes utilizing non-directive therapy interventions including play therapy, sand therapy, and art therapy and addressing issues related to self-regulation skills, behavioral concerns, and sensory issues. I provide didactic support to parents as they work with her to address their children’s needs.

I work best with clients who: are experiencing intense emotions, periods of stress, have trauma histories, and/or are struggling with anxiety and depression. I work with children and adults to promote coping skills and address maladaptive behaviors. 

I am not a good clinical fit for clients who: Want to address substance use or abuse as a primary focus of therapy. I also do not provide couples counseling services. 

What makes me unique: I work with children, teens and adults. My experience in trauma-informed therapy helps me understand how our past experiences inform our current functioning.
